Our Story
More than somewhere to spend the day.
We want First Choice to be somewhere children feel comfortable walking into every morning and somewhere parents feel confident leaving them.
That means creating an environment where children can have fun while developing the social, emotional, creative, cognitive, and physical skills that grow naturally through childhood.
Most importantly, childhood should still feel like childhood. There should be room for imagination, silliness, friendship, curiosity, movement, stories, messy crafts, and plenty of laughter.

At First Choice Daycare, we believe children learn best when they are given the time and freedom to explore, play, build confidence, and grow at their own pace. A familiar daily routine helps children feel secure while still leaving plenty of room for imagination, curiosity, friendships, and individual needs.
Learning through play is a big part of everything we do. Play gives children natural opportunities to solve problems, communicate, create, make choices, build social skills, and discover new interests. Whether they are building, pretending, creating art, exploring outdoors, or simply playing with friends, those everyday moments are important parts of how children learn.
We aim to provide the warmth of a nurturing home environment while maintaining clear health and safety expectations. Children are supported through the challenges that come with each stage of development and encouraged to become increasingly independent and confident.
We also respect and celebrate the ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds of the children and families in our care, helping every child feel welcomed, valued, and included.

Licensed Child Care

First Choice Daycare is a licensed in-home multi-age childcare facility in the Cottonwood area of Maple Ridge.
We are listed as a licensed child care facility with Fraser Health and are subject to licensing and inspection processes that support a safe and healthy environment for the children in our care.
First Choice Daycare also participates in the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) and can assist families with the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB).
